Craig Butterfield

Craig starting karate aged 5 along with his older brother, being a small quiet child his parents were concerned about him being bullied. After a few months Craig went from one class a week to two classes and began to really progress gaining his first belts. A year later he entered his first competition and gained 2nd place. By the age of 10 Craig was training 4 times a week, was a black belt and national karate champion. 

Aged 12 Craig gained his 2nd Dan black belt and was highly regarded as one of the best young fighters in the country and tipped to become a future world champion. 

Aged 13 Craig’s dad Colin, also a black belt, and his brother Gav, also a black belt and a highly respected fighter, started Boston Sport Karate club which then run for the next 20 years until Colin retired, the club produced several black belts and top fighters. 

Aged 20 Craig was selected to fight for Great Britain and remained on the squad for the next 10 years. Travelling over Europe fighting he won 5 European titles, 3 world silver medals and finally achieved his dream of becoming world Champion. 

Craig now now set his sights on training the next generation of black belts and champions at Boston Sport Karate. 

Harley Butterfield

Harley Butterfield is one of the most talented young martial artist in the UK. He started training aged 4 at Boston Sport Karate Club and also training at home with his dad Gav. Although he wasn’t the most naturally gifted, he has shown what can be achieved with hard work and dedication. Hours of training saw him soon gaining a reputation on the fight scene and he fast become one of the best young fighters at junior level. Moving to train with the famous TKA fight team in Birmingham and guided by Lance Mayner he took his training to the next level and with Lance’s guidance he has won nearly every title available domestically. Now aged 17 he has set his sights on becoming a senior world champion and it’s hard to imagine him not achieving it with his work ethic.
